With its golden colour, generous texture and distinctive savoury character, it brings more depth to the table than a simple everyday white. This Romagna Albana DOCG comes in a 750ml bottle at 14.5% ABV, making it a thoughtful choice for a dinner where the wine has a real part to play.

🍇 Codronchio is a late-harvest expression of Albana. Carefully selected grapes develop noble rot, or Botrytis cinerea, which adds aromatic concentration and complexity. The finished wine remains dry: late harvesting describes the grapes and their ripeness, rather than promising sweetness in the glass. Its character is rooted in a local variety and the long winemaking tradition of Romagna.

🌿 Citrus and aromatic herbs shape the bouquet, with a delicate saffron note adding another layer. On the palate, a rounded, generous texture meets a savoury edge and a persistent finish. Take a little time with the glass; the appeal is in the way its aromas and texture unfold alongside food.

🍽️ Serve Monticino Rosso Codronchio 2022 Dry Albana white wine at 12–14°C in a roomy white wine glass. We suggest saffron risotto, crab or other seafood, fish pasta and roasted poultry. These dishes give its savoury character and aromatic depth room to shine. For an evening with friends, choose one well-prepared main course and let the bottle become part of the conversation.

🏆 The 2022 vintage earned Tre Bicchieri in Gambero Rosso’s Vini d’Italia 2025. This is a vintage-specific distinction, and a useful reason to explore this expressive Albana. The bottle has a cork closure and contains sulphites. Store it away from heat and direct light; refrigerate after opening.

Key Details

🍷 Style: Dry white wine

🍇 Grape: 100% Albana

🏡 Producer: Fattoria Monticino Rosso

🌍 Origin: Imola, Emilia-Romagna, Italy

📍 Appellation: Romagna Albana DOCG

📅 Vintage: 2022

🍾 Volume: 750ml

💪 Alcohol: 14.5% ABV

🌿 Aroma: Citrus, aromatic herbs, delicate saffron

👅 Taste & finish: Rounded, rich, savoury; long finish

⏳ Production & ageing: Late harvest with noble rot; steel maturation

🔒 Closure & allergens: Cork; contains sulphites

🍽️ Serving & suggested pairings: 12–14°C; saffron risotto, seafood, fish pasta, roasted poultry

🏆 Highest verified award: Gambero Rosso Tre Bicchieri, Vini d’Italia 2025 — 2022 vintage
