Autograph Dekanozishvili 2022 is a premium Georgian dry red wine crafted from a distinguished blend of Saperavi (70%), Otskhanuri Sapere (20%), and Shavkapito (10%). Produced using the traditional Georgian qvevri winemaking method, this exceptional wine reflects the richness of Kakheti’s winemaking heritage and the unique character of the Tokhliauri terroir.
The grapes are sourced from carefully maintained vineyards located in the Manavi Microzone of Kakheti, at an altitude of 650 meters above sea level. Hand-harvested fruit from 20-year-old vines undergoes a six-month maceration in qvevri at low temperatures, followed by 18 months of aging in French and American oak barrels of varying toast levels.
In the glass, the wine displays a deep dark purple color. The bouquet opens with elegant oak-derived aromas of vanilla, cinnamon, caramel, and coconut, followed by layers of black fruits, berries, dried fruits, spices, nuts, and tobacco. Subtle notes of red bell pepper add additional complexity.
On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, rich, and beautifully structured. Its elevated alcohol content provides a pleasant warmth, while flavors of black plum, dark berries, dried fruits, roasted walnuts, tobacco, and delicate smoky nuances create remarkable depth and character.
