Madame Veuve Point Chablis 750ml 12.5% (France, Burgundy)
Madame Veuve Point Chablis represents one of the purest, most iconic expressions of Chardonnay in all of Burgundy. The estate’s legacy begins with the remarkable Madame Veuve Point — a pioneering woman winemaker whose Pouilly-Fuissé earned the Grand Prize at the 1904 Saint Louis World’s Fair in the USA. Today, her great-great-granddaughter Géraldine Point continues this tradition, crafting more than 30 AOP wines that showcase Burgundy’s finest terroirs.
The region behind Madame Veuve Point Chablis lies near Auxerre in the Yonne department, along the serene river Le Serein. Known since ancient Roman times, Chablis later flourished under the influence of Cistercian monks in the 12th century, who helped shape its distinctive identity. Its signature character comes from fossil-rich Kimmeridgian limestone soils and a cool northern climate — conditions that produce Chardonnay of exceptional purity, minerality, and precision.
In the glass, the wine shows a pale lemon-yellow color. The aroma opens with white flowers, citrus, and refined lemon zest. The palate is linear, fresh, and mineral-driven, offering tension, finesse, and a long, crystalline finish. This cuvée is an excellent example of balance: bright acidity, subtle fruit, and unmistakable Chablis minerality that defines Madame Veuve Point Chablis.
It is traditionally paired with oysters, seafood, asparagus, grilled fish, or goat cheese, and is often served well-chilled at 10–11°C.
A true Burgundy classic — clean, elegant, and timeless. ✨🍋🍇
