Ilias First Vintage Kisi Mtsvane is a limited dry amber qvevri wine from Kakheti, Georgia, made from Kisi and Mtsvane grapes. The 2017 vintage was produced using traditional qvevri winemaking with extended skin contact, giving the wine its deep amber colour, layered aroma and structured dry character. It is unfiltered, bottled at 13% ABV and presented in a 750ml bottle.
Ilias First Vintage Kisi Mtsvane shows an expressive nose of dried apricot, quince and ripe stone fruit, with floral, herbal and gently honeyed notes. Warm spice and orange-peel nuances add further depth. The palate is dry, rich and harmonious: orchard fruit and citrus peel are supported by a light nutty note, balanced acidity, a mineral edge and measured tannins from the qvevri process. The result is a complex amber wine with texture and a long, savoury finish.
Serve at around 12–14°C rather than ice-cold, allowing the wine to open gradually in the glass. It is particularly good with roast poultry, grilled vegetables, mushrooms, aged cheeses, richer fish and Georgian dishes built around herbs and walnuts.
