Veuve Olivier & Fils Carte dOr Sec Champagne is a fruit-forward Champagne from the Marne Valley. Its blend brings together Pinot Meunier and Pinot Noir, with the former giving the wine its open, welcoming fruit character. The Sec expression has a more generous sweetness than the producer’s separate Carte d’Or Brut. It keeps the energy of sparkling wine while presenting a softer, rounder impression on the palate. The producer matures this cuvée for at least three years, giving the fruit and the fine bubbles time to come together. 🥂

The aroma moves toward ripe and exotic fruit. In the glass, the lively mousse brings freshness to the wine’s sweeter style and makes it inviting as an aperitif. Carte d’Or Sec also has a useful place at the table. Pour it alongside fruit tart, lightly sweet pastry or a plate of soft cheese, where its fruit-led character can meet similar flavours. It can be served with savoury bites as well, especially when a touch of sweetness brings balance to a gently spiced dish. Chilling the bottle to 8–10°C keeps the bubbles refreshing and lets the fruit show clearly.

Veuve Olivier & Fils Carte dOr Sec Champagne estate in Trélou-sur-Marne. Its vineyards in the Marne Valley provide the fruit for this cuvée, which is made by the traditional method with a second fermentation in the bottle. Carte d’Or Sec is an appealing choice for guests who enjoy Champagne with a rounder taste. The 750ml bottle suits a shared toast, dessert course or a relaxed gathering. Pour slowly into a sparkling wine glass and give the mousse a moment to settle. Its clear fruit character is especially enjoyable when the wine is cool and freshly opened. This Champagne contains sulphites. 🍾✨
