Fattoria Monticino Rosso Romagna DOC Sangiovese Superiore Red Wine 750ml 13.5% (2023, Romagna, Italy)
ROMAGNA DOC SANGIOVESE SUPERIORE
The Sangiovese S of the Fattoria Monticino Rosso has precise characteristics that make it recognizable thanks to seductive olfactory and gustatory connotations. It is worth knowing, in fact, that the nervous character of this noble vine is expressed through the freshness of the fruit, based on cherry and berries. To all this are added a series of nuances of flowers and spices that help to create a fascinating symphony, to which intense tannins, but of great finesse, act as a background. The harvest of our Sangiovese S takes place around mid-September: the bunches are picked by hand, in small crates, with a careful selection of the grapes.
Tasting
It was created for the everyday table and when we thought of this label, we wanted to recreate the convivial atmosphere of our lands and our people. What you will find in this wine are immediate aromas that identify the beauty of the Romagna territory. The nose is of good intensity and persistence: cherries, black cherries in alcohol, coffee, then come the flowers that bloom gently, in the shade of an undergrowth with moss and wild strawberries. The finish is dry, with hints of fruit cooked in sugar and light spices.
On the palate it has a good balance between the "gentle" part and the more "nervous" part, which highlights the main characteristic of the grape variety. It has a good fullness of body and a well-modulated acidity that continues to tickle the palate for a long time. The tannin is perfectly integrated into the structure, decisive, fine-grained.
