It is a young, fragrant and highly typical wine, capable of transmitting, from the very first taste, the strong bond with the land of the Langhe. Satisfying and persuasive, it invites you to sip over and over again. The nose reminds rose and violet petals, red fruits, in particular dark cherries, and spices. On the palate it is pulpy, fine in tannins and of good persistence. Excellent in combination with land menus, meats and aged cheeses.
GRAPE VARIETY: 100% Nebbiolo
SOIL COMPOSITION: South East exposition, altitude 310 asl. These hills, of recent geological formation, have on the surface a large mainly calcareous soil, with a high presence of quartz sand and very fine lime, alternating with compact layers of gray sandstone.
AVERAGE PLANTING YEAR: 1995, traditional Guyot.
HARVEST: Manual, beginning October.
VINIFICATION AND AGEING: Destemming, crushing and fermentation with maceration in contact with the skins at 26°C for 12-14 days. Malolactic fermentation in steel conteiners and 12 months refining in barriques and tonneaux of third and fourth passage.
